alonissosAlonissos, the least populated island in the Sporades group, is the place for those seeking a quiet vacation away from the noise and traffic. It is famous because the sea around Alonissos and the seven uninhabited islets near it have been declared a marine park, so it is the cleanest in the Aegean Sea.

KalitheaKallithea is the most popular village in Halkidiki. It is located in the first peninsula of Halkidiki, Kassandra and it is the most cosmopolitan place in Halkidiki.

Kyra PanagiaKyra Panagia is also known by the name of Pelagos and rarely Pelagonisi. In Antiquity it was known as Ephthyros and Polyaigos. A bay in the south west of the island is named Agios Petros. Kyra Panagia has belonged to the Athonite monastery of Megisti Lavra. There is a monastery, currently under restoration and inhabited by a single monk, on the east coast of the island.

Porto KoufoPorto Koufo is the largest natural harbour in Greece. The harbour was mentioned by the historian Thucydides. German submarines used it during World War II because of its geographical location and direct access to the Aegean Sea.

SkiathosThe island of Skiathos belongs to the Northern Sporades group of islands (along with Skopelos, Alonissos, Skyros and some smaller islands around them), and the area is popular for sailing holidays, as it is not so exposed to the meltemi wind as the Cyclades.

The island is covered with pine-trees and boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. There are three harbours on the island and a small marina for yachts on one of the two islets called Tsougries that lie across the main harbour, on the south-east coast.

SkopelosOnly a few miles away from Skiathos, you can sail to the picturesque island of Skopelos. The capital and main port of the island , also called Skopelos , is on the east coast , and the second port, Loutraki, is on the west. The north-west coast is, as usually, more exposed to strong wind, so the beaches are on the south.

SkyrosSkyros belongs to the Sporades group, but it is further away east from the rest and has developed independently. Its morphology is quite interesting, as the island is almost divided into two parts by a narrow isthmus in the middle. The northern part is cultivated, whereas the southern is rocky and almost uninhabited.
